New York Jets |
On the clock: Baltimore Ravens, Pick: 7.32 |
| Pick | Overall | Choice | Notes | |
| 1.09 | 9 | Damontre Moore, DE from Texas A&M | My #1 prospect for the Jets falls right in my lap. Moore is far and away the best fit at OLB in the Jets scheme. Rex likes his OLBs big, and loves seeing them make an impact in the run game and hold a strong edge. I also love his versatility, as he has excellent bend and closing speed, while having incredible strength. I'd like to see him drop a bit of weight, however. OLB was a must for the Jets at 9, whether it was Moore, Jordan, or Mingo. Garrett McIntyre and Ricky Sapp are the only two OLBs under contract *shudders. Easy pick, Moore is a young Calvin Pace who isn't totally incapable of rushing the passer. Easy pick. | |
| 2.08 | 39 | Markus Wheaton, WR from Oregon State | My #3 WR is a steal here, but wanted to trade back because I was confident he'd be there mid Rd 2, as well. Oh well, I get who is, in my opinion, the most NFL ready WR in this draft on a team with only Jeremy Kerley fresh and proven to play. Should be an immediate contributor in the Mornhinweg's new West Cost scheme. | |
| 3.10 | 72 | Jamie Collins, OLB from Southern Mississippi | Selection made by admin per GM. Email your comments to commissioner@mockone.net to have them added. | |
| 4.09 | 103 | Brian Winters, OG from Kent State | Looked hard at Montee Ball here, but not a fan and even his value here won't let me abandon what looks to be a very committee like running game from the Jets. Winters is my #4 OG, and his nastiness in the run game reminds me of a good Richie Incognito. Strongly believe the Jets will try and bring back Moore and Slauson, but that'll be difficult and depth is needed anyways. | |
| 5.08 | 134 | Kevin Reddick, ILB from North Carolina | Pick executed by Admin. Please email pick commentary to commissioner@mockone.net to have it entered. | |
| 6.10 | 168 | Conner Vernon, WR from Duke | When in doubt, pick value. Vernon just has stupid value here, and even though I already went WR in RD 2, the Jets have no depth behind Santonio Holmes and Jeremy Kerley. Still like the value at QB and RB if I want to go there Rd 7. Wheaton and Vernon coming into New York? Two safe but high upside picks, me likey. | |
| 7.09 | 199 | Corey Fuller, WR from Virginia Tech | Admin pick |
