Seattle Seahawks

On the clock: Baltimore Ravens, Pick: 7.32

General Manager: @SeahawkNMD

1.2525Sam Montgomery, DE
from LSU
Best player on my board at a position of need by far. Really think he'll become a real good pass rusher in the league. Provides a good compliment to Bruce Irvin with Chris Clemons sidelined with the ACL injury.
2.2656Kawann Short, DT
from Purdue
Great value with Short this late as he was in consideration for my 1st round pick. A great fit as a big 3tech with quickness. Immediate upgrade of the UFA Alan Branch. 1st 2 rounds put to generating some pass rush, our biggest need.
3.2587Vance McDonald, TE
from Rice
Bringing in a versatile TE who can do a bit of everything. Seattle wants a weapon at the 2nd TE while not losing too much in the run blocking department and Vance has the ability to be a threat in both. After a run on TE's in the 3rd glad to pick up the last real threat at the position. Barrett Jones would have been the pick after dropping so far but just got snatched up.
5.15141Jelani Jenkins, OLB
from Florida
Pick between Jelani Jenkins and Zavier Gooden but I believe Jenkins is the more complete player who would be much more highly regarded if he wasn't injured so much this past season. WLB is up for grabs in Seattle and Jenkins has a real chance to be the next day 3 pick to come in and starter in his rookie season and 3rd rookie LB in 3 seasons to start for the Seahawks. I valued him much higher then mid 5th but counted on Will LBs dropping down the board as half the teams won't consider one.
5.25151Marquess Wilson, WR
from Washington State
I was real high on Marquess Wilson coming into this season and while there are definitely questions on what type of person we're bringing into the locker room I think we got the guys in there, the QB and the coaching staff to handle it. The Seahawks are looking for a WR a can win deep with some size to bring down the ball and Wilson fits the bill. Late 5th is great value to take a chance on a guy with so much talent and I believe he'll become the WR we hope and a big weapon for the Seahawks.
6.14172Matt Scott, QB
from Arizona
Getting a long term backup for Russell Wilson at QB who can do some of the same things. Matt Flynn may be traded this offseason and almost certainly not be back after next season. Good arm, good athlete, and should learn a lot from watching Russell Wilson do work.
6.26184Ray Graham, RB
from Pittsburgh
After throwing away the card that said Xavier Nixon on it the Seahawks decide to take a guy to come in and push Leon Washington for his roster spot. After a very disappointing combine Ray Graham had a slip down the board but Seattle believes he just tested bad and may not have been a 100% coming off the ACL. Graham will be counted on to return kicks and some punts while bringing some elusiveness and speed to the RB position as the 3rd string change of pace. Graham looked like a poor man's Shady McCoy before his injury and hopes he can get back to that in Seattle.
7.13203Sanders Commings, CB
from Georgia
Long, physical CB to keep up the competition with the DB's. Could possibly play some FS in a back up role to Earl Thomas. Thought he would be gone in the 4th round range so I feel he's a steal here in the 7th and should make the roster and a competitive position.
