| Value? Check. Need? Check. Great first pick by the Cowboys GM to get Dontari Poe. Bruce Irvin is a one-tricky pony at outside linebacker, but he’s a burner with raw speed and ability...if you can control his off-field issues. Josh Robinson is another raw speed player (cue the Al Davis jokes), but could pay off. He wouldn’t be asked to contribute much early on. | Grade: B |
| Pick | Overall | Choice | Notes | |
| 1.14 | 14 | Dontari Poe, DT from Memphis | Finally the monster presence in the middle that is needed to collapse the center of the pocket. Thx to the war room assistants @ABXXV25 & @allen21howard | |
| 2.13 | 45 | Bruce Irvin, OLB from West Virginia | Depth at linebacker which is a key issue for the team along with a viable option to Spencer if he doesn't produce this year or Dallas can't work out a long term deal. | |
| 3.19 | 82 | Josh Robinson, CB from Central Florida | Waited for DB til late due to the depth at position in this years draft. Robinson fits Ryan's defense like a glove. Ran a 4.34 at the NFL combine & came from a man scheme at UCF. Can turn & run with anyone & that's what the Boys need to bring along beside Jenkins, Scandrick & Carr if he gets signed tonite. Gives plenty of time to come along at his on pace. Don't forget 2 years ago Robinson held his own against then Georgia WR A.J. Green in the 2010 Liberty Bowl. | |
| 4.18 | 113 | Ryan Broyles, WR from Oklahoma | With the loss of Laurent Robinson. Andre Holmes & DeWayne Harris are set to compete for the #3 WR position, essentially giving Broyles time to come along from the jury, sustained last year, at his own pace. Statistically Broyles was keeping pace with Justin Blackmon last year & before the injury was expected by many analysts to be a 1st round prospect. | |
| 5.17 | 144 | Travis Benjamin, WR from Miami (FL) | Love the speed here! Project guy but could end up scoring big with the potential. Likely to end up a practice squad guy but surprises do happen. | |
| 6.16 | 175 | Adrian Hamilton, OLB from Prairie View A&M | ||
