| There is nothing to complain about with the Chargers’ first pick. In Round 2 the GM selects Amini Silatolu with Kevin Zeitler still on the board. This is not a good pick. More bad news, Vontaze Burfict in the third round. This is a guy with AFL2 level character. And look, another character guy, Dwight Jones in round four. Not good. | Grade: D |
| Pick | Overall | Choice | Notes | |
| 1.18 | 18 | Courtney Upshaw, OLB from Alabama | English is a bust and Phillips isn't getting any younger. Upshaw is too talented to pass up at 18. | |
| 2.17 | 49 | Amini Silatolu, OG from Midwestern St. | Silatolu is one of the most intrifuing small prospects to come along in years and Chargers need help on the interior. He can be a DayOne starter. | |
| 3.16 | 79 | Vontaze Burfict, ILB from Arizona St. | AUTOPICKED* | |
| 4.15 | 110 | Dwight Jones, WR from North Carolina | A high-octane passing offense like SD can never have enough WRs and Jones has the potential to be a great one. | |
| 5.14 | 141 | Ryan Steed, CB from Furman | ||
| 6.13 | 172 | Edwin Baker, RB from Michigan St. | With Tolbert likely to leave and Todman signed to the Vikings, the Chargers need some more options at RB. Baker is underrated and could shine in a backup role behind Mathews. | |
| 7.19 | 209 | Sean Cattouse, S from California | POick Executed by Admin |
