1.1515Jonathan Cyprien, S
from Florida International
Last year the Saints fielded a historically bad defense, and the secondary was the main culprit. While we need to find front seven players that fit Rob Ryan's 34, the best player on the board just so happens to fill one of the single biggest needs, as its clearly time to find a replacement for Roman Harper. Cyprien is a big, physical, explosive athlete that can start immediately at either safety position and will be equally proficient against the run and pass. We feel there is a huge dropoff at the position after Vaccaro and Cyprien, so we are pumped to land our guy.

3.0668Corey Lemonier, DE
from Auburn
We were willing to trade a future 1st to get back into the end of day one/beginning of day two to go get Lemonier, so we were excited to get him at this stage at such a fair price. We had Lemonier as a top 20 player because of his innate explosiveness and ability to terrorize the QB from our 34's OLB spot - this is clearly a case of need-meeting fit-meeting value.
4.12109Tavarres King, WR
from Georgia
We tried to trade up a few spots for Leon McFadden but were unfortunately foiled by the trade timer. With the last of the CBs we believe can start on day one off the board, we switched our focus to WR, where we feel the best value in this draft remains. Tavarres King timed well enough at the combine, but he plays significantly faster with pads on, and is a constant deep threat. We also like is savvy route running against zone coverage, as he does an excellent job of finding the sweet spot and sitting down to make himself an easy target. Considering he'll have Brees throwing him the ball, he should be an instant producer in our offense and be an upgrade over the departed Devery Henderson.
6.07175Armonty Bryant, DE
from East Central
Character concerns have dropped Bryant to this stage of the draft, but he's dominated every level he's played at and has the top end athleticism and pass rush skills to develop into a starting OLB in our scheme. This late in the draft, we consider him to be a low risk/high reward prospect, capable of becoming a dangerous edge rusher at the next level.
6.15183William Campbell, DT
from Michigan
Campbell didn't really come into his own until his senior year at Michigan, but after a productive 2012 season and an outstanding Shrine week, he has scouts buzzing, as well as our war room. For a man his size he is an excellent athlete with the quickness to penetrate off the snap and the strength to occupy multiple blockers. It was imperative we find players to fit Rob Ryan's scheme, and Campbell could end up starting from any of the three defensive line positions.
