PickOverallChoiceNotes
1.2626Datone Jones, DE
from UCLA
Jones is a talented and versatile defensive lineman with impressive strength and an explosive first step. He will be an instant upgrade on the outside of the defensive line. Couldn't pass up on him at 1.26.
2.2555Giovani Bernard, RB
from North Carolina
Bernard is our best-ranked running back and future playmaker in the NFL. He will team-up perfectly with DuJuan Harris and will also be a useful weapon as a pass catcher. Couldn't pass up on him here.
3.2688Brandon Williams, DT
from Missouri Southern State
While the Packers need help at Center and Safety, we couldn't pass up on Brandon Williams from MSU in the 3rd round. We have a high grade on him and he would bring a lot to our defensive line. Also, at this point; Neal, Pickett, BJ Raji, and Wilson are all free agents after this year and we could use Williams for rotation in 2013 and to replace someone next year.
4.25122JJ Wilcox, S
from Georgia Southern
Wilcox is a talented FS with a 3rd round grade, who will be an immediate upgrade in secondary and can start from day 1. (Could possibly even be the replacement for Nick Collins GB desperately needs) Good in coverage, zone, over-the-top and against the run. Can also contribute on special teams to help keep Cobb healthy.
5.26159Lerentee McCray, OLB
from Florida
McCray is a talented OLB (just check him out against Joeckel in the Texas A&M game) that adds some much needed depth to our defense. An OLB rotation of Matthews-Perry-McCray-Moses is pretty formidable moving forward.
5.34167Cobi Hamilton, WR
from Arkansas
Hamilton is a quick, long, athletic and strong WR who will make a great addition to Aaron Rodgers' arsenal of weapons. He'd also be the prime candidate to replace James Jones on the outside next in 2014.
6.25193J.C. Tretter, OG
from Cornell
Tretter is an athletic and versatile lineman that can play anywhere along the line and could provide depth at guard and tackle and eventually be our starting center. Couldn't pass on him here.
7.26232Zach Sudfeld, TE
from Nevada
In the seventh round, we decided to roll the dice with Sudfeld. The guy certainly had his fair share of injury issues at Nevada, but he was a monster as a blocker and receiver as a senior. If he stays healthy and reaches his potential, this is a steal.
