2.2151Darius Slay, CB
from Mississippi State
The Redskins are very excited to pick Mississippi State CB Darius Slay. We had a major need at CB and believe Slay is a steal. A high ceiling corner, who can learn from our veterans and develop into one of the best DB's in this class. Slay has the size, speed and ball skills that we love. We had Slay high on our boards as a potential 1st Round Pick, to get him at this point of the draft was incredible.
3.2385Jordan Reed, TE
from Florida
After filling a major hole in the secondary, we made it our mission to get RGIII another weapon to work with. Fred Davis is coming off an achilles injury and may not be the same. While Jordan Reed may need to develop more as a blocker, his skills as a receiver can't be matched. Reed will be a nightmare for defense's to cover and will add to our weapons. If Davis does come back healthy, it also enables use to use a 2 TE set. RGIII and the Redskins war room is very excited with this pick. RGIII TO REED TOUCHDOWN!
3.2991Shamarko Thomas, S
from Syracuse
There are times during the draft when you have to move up to get a player you love, and the Redskins do exactly that right here. We have a major hole at the safety position and we believe Syracuse S Shamarko Thomas fills that void. Thomas will bring the aggressive, angry style of play our defense needs. Some had concerns over his size, but we believe he can be a special player. We are very excited to welcome Shamarko Thomas to the Redskins family
5.29162Xavier Nixon, OT
from Florida
Our top player on the board, the Washington Redskins war room is doing backflips with this pick. One of our main priorities coming into the draft was upgrading at RT. We took a gamble waiting until now and it works to perfection. Nixon is a great athlete with long arms, and impressive lower body strength. While he was inconsistent at Florida one of his best performances came against Jadeveon Clowney. His technique and fundamentals need work, but we are convinced with our coaching he can be a great player.
7.22228Ray Graham, RB
from Pittsburgh
The Washington Redskins are thrilled to select Pittsburgh RB Ray Graham. We found a gem last season with Alfred Morris, but Evan Royster wasn't a reliable change of pace back. Before tearing his ACL, Graham had the chance to be one of the top RB's in this draft. He has fought to overcome obstacles with injuries and we are excited to welcome him to the Redskins. Graham's vision and patience make him a great fit for our team and the perfect back to compliment Morris. Graham is not only the best running back on our board he is the best player on our board.
7.29235Micah Hyde, CB
from Iowa
Our final pick of the draft has arrived and we couldn't be happier with this pick. Our No.1 priority coming into the draft was to address the secondary and we find the 3rd member who will be joining our team. Iowa CB Micah Hyde is a versatile player with the ability to play both corner and safety. He comes to the NFL well-developed. He can come in and help our secondary right away because of his knowledge of the game and fundamentals. He has great size a t 6' 196 lbs and the strength to go with it. As our last pick in the draft we believe this is a great pick and another upgrade in our secondary
