PickOverallChoiceNotes
2.2961Gabe Jackson, OG
from Mississippi State
Redskins new HC Jay Gruden gets a fresh start with a big guard upfront to slowly move to a more power scheme. Gabe's surprising athletic ability will also help Washington continue mixing in zone and spread concepts.
3.0266Cameron Fleming, OT
from Stanford
Redskins war room almost struck a trade back here with two players ranked closely. It was a tough call here. In the end, we decided on Fleming who could give Washington a bookend to Trent Williams. He would be the Andre Smith of the offense for Jay Gruden, who will be happy to have two bigs with the Gabe Jackson addition earlier.
3.1377Jaylen Watkins, CB
from Florida
This was an easy selection for the Redskins War room. After going offensive line with the first two picks, Washington gets a player in Watkins who could step in as a nickel back day one. He also provides versatility as a possible option at FS.
4.02102Jordan Tripp, OLB
from Montana
Redskins War Room deliberated over this pick as it could have easily gone other ways. But Tripp is a guy who provides versatility and could play every LB spot in Washington's 3-4 defense.
5.02142Kelcy Quarles, DT
from South Carolina
The Redskins war room consider Quarles with the last pick. So getting him here is tremendous value. With Washington quietly moving to a more one gap based defense, Kelcy could step in and be a rotational rusher.
6.02178Xavier Grimble, TE
from Southern California
Redskins war room wanted to get a tight end at some point and got a pretty good player here in Grimble.
7.02217Cody Hoffman, WR
from Brigham Young
Redskins are loaded with sub-6 footers at the WR position. This was an easy decision in our war room. Hoffman is an underrated prospect with upside and size.
7.27242Larry Webster, DE
from Bloomsburg
Larry Webster is such an interesting prospect. He's extremely raw and could develop as a defensive end. However, as a former basketball player, he's capable of switching to the Tight End position.
